Job Description: As a Purchasing Manager, you will be instrumental in optimizing our procurement processes and ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials necessary for our operations. You will manage supplier relationships, oversee inventory levels, and work closely with various departments to support our company's goals and maintain our high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and terms.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or service.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve favorable conditions for the company.
2 . Procurement Strategy:
- Formulate and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's material needs while controlling costs.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
- Collaborate with the sales and production teams to forecast material requirements and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
3 . Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Implement inventory control measures and conduct regular audits to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline the receipt and storage of materials.
4 . Cost Management:
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve budget goals.
- Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring they align with company policies and budget constraints.
5 . Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.
- Provide support in resolving any supply chain issues and addressing discrepancies in material availability.
6. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance to senior management.
- Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement in the purchasing process.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role (experience in the fencing materials industry is a must)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and procurement software.
- Solid knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
